Biden’s great speech collides with reality

Berlin, Germany (Weltexpress). Amidst political turmoil and international tensions, President Joe Biden was recently in the spotlight, signing off from the 2024 election campaign with a remarkable speech in the middle of the week. This article takes a closer look at Biden’s statements on American foreign policy that turn reality upside down.

Biden’s speech, which he certainly did not write himself but is a product of the presidential puppeteers behind the scenes, came immediately after Benjamin Netanyahu’s controversial address to the US Congress. Many expected a strong statement from Biden, especially in light of the rumors surrounding his possible resignation, which have damaged his reputation. Biden began his speech with a focus on America’s role in the world. He proudly proclaimed that the US had not been involved in any wars during his time in office, something most US politicians probably agree with. Here is the relevant passage of speech: “I will continue to ensure that America remains strong, secure and the leader of the free world. I am the first president in this century who can tell the American people that the United States is not at war anywhere in the world. We will continue to mobilize a coalition of proud nations to prevent Putin from taking over Ukraine and doing further damage. We will make NATO stronger and more united than ever before in our history. I will do the same for our allies in the Pacific.”

Well, this statement is absolutely surreal, especially since in the sentence immediately afterwards Biden boasts about how the USA under his leadership is supporting Ukraine in the war against Russia. On the one hand, he says we are not at war, only to claim that we are winning this war.

The idea that the US is not involved in any war is completely absurd

In the same week that Biden made this absurd claim, the US bombed Yemen. The US has been bombing Yemen for over 20 years, not just recently. They started shortly after 11 September 2001. The USA has been at war in Yemen since the beginning of this century. The US is also still militarily occupying Iraq and parts of Syria, whose oil and gas resources it is stealing. In Syria, the Pentagon still claims to control a third of the country.

The US drone attacks in Iraq, Syria and Somalia were also continued under Biden.

Then there is Ukraine, where the USA has not only supplied tens of billions of dollars worth of weapons, but according to credible reports, US special forces are also on the ground, as are special forces from the UK, France, the Netherlands and Germany. These reports come from the New York Times, the BBC and many other mainstream media outlets. A US official was imprisoned for leaking information about it. He was a loudmouth who had bragged about the classified information to friends on the Internet.

The USA is also supporting the Israeli army in Israel with billions of dollars and weapons. Here, too, there are reports of US special forces on the ground who were involved in an alleged hostage rescue operation by the Israeli soldiery in Gaza, in which hundreds of Palestinian civilians were killed. The US military is directly involved in supporting the mass killings in Gaza, and this goes beyond support with money and weapons. The CIA also advises Israel and provides surveillance data to target and murder people in Gaza. British drones provide surveillance data, and there is a leaked Pentagon memo telling US troops stationed in Iraq to prepare for an invasion of Gaza.

We could go on, but the idea that the US is not involved in any war is completely absurd.

Economic wars claim many times more victims than military wars

Added to this are the economic wars that the USA is waging against dozens of countries, causing death and misery. As a rule, economic wars claim many times more victims than military wars. The sanctions against Venezuela, Syria and many other countries have had a devastating impact. The current US economic wars affect 60 per cent of poor countries worldwide, as recently recognized in a Washington Post report. According to UN reports, US sanctions against Venezuela have led to the deaths of 100,000 people. In Syria, 94 per cent of the population live below the poverty line due to the sanctions.

These contradictory statements by US President Biden illustrate the double standards of American foreign policy. The US continues to wage military and economic wars that affect millions of lives and destabilize the global balance. Yet US politicians and media constantly bluster about their global humanitarian commitment to human rights, receiving unrestricted support from their EU and NATO vassals.
