Israeli settlers kill US citizens – Trump’s “America First” hypocrisy exposed

Berlin, Germany (Weltexpress). In the last 21 months alone, seven US citizens have been murdered by Zionist settler terrorists, deliberately ignored by US politicians and the media. No politician or “quality media outlet” has called for the perpetrators to be held accountable, as the latest murder case exemplifies.

On July 11, 2025, a brutal act of violence in the occupied West Bank exposed the shameless hypocrisy of the Trump administration’s “America First” rhetoric. Sayfollah Musallet, a 20-year-old US citizen from Florida, was beaten to death by Israeli settlers while defending the land of his relatives still living in the village of Al-Mazra’a ash-Sharqiya.

Empowered by decades of impunity, the settler terrorists surrounded Musallet for over three hours and prevented paramedics from rescuing him. In the same attack, a young Palestinian, Muhammad Rizq Hussein al-Shalabi, was shot dead by Zionist settler terrorists in the town of Sinjil.

Musallet was visiting relatives in the Israeli-occupied West Bank, in violation of international law, when the settler terrorists, pampered by the Netanyahu regime, struck. Born in Florida and raised in Port Charlotte, he ran the family’s small retail business at home in the US.

His death has shaken his family and the Palestinian town he was visiting. “There is no justice there. You can’t call the police. You can’t call the Israeli government. The murderers simply go unpunished,” said a relative of the victim. The Israeli military claims to be “investigating the incident,” but remains silent in response to inquiries.

And the US State Department has issued a meaningless statement emphasizing the “safety of American citizens” as a priority, while refusing to disclose further details—with the flimsy argument of their alleged “respect for the privacy of the family” of the murder victim. This is ridiculous, as everyone knows that US diplomats behave like the famous “three monkeys” when it comes to Zionist crimes, atrocities, crimes against humanity, and even accusations of genocide: see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil.

On July 14, three days after the young American was murdered by settlers, Kamel Musallet, Sayfollah’s father, spoke in a moving interview with a reporter from Zeteo, a US internet platform specializing in news from the Middle East. The father lamented: “I know that if this had been an Israeli-American citizen, they would have done everything in their power to find and punish the guilty parties. But because he is an American of Palestinian origin, the same standards do not apply. It’s two different worlds.”

This was also evident in the official reactions in the US, in politics and media reports. The deliberate murder of Sayfollah was simply ignored. No one from the White House or Congress contacted the family. President Donald Trump, who boasts of his “America First” doctrine, attended a Club World Cup match while Vice President JD Vance was at Disneyland.

The victim’s father, , commented on : “Trump says ‘America First.’ He is an American; why doesn’t he and his administration put America first? An American was killed by Israeli violence—by settler terrorism. When will this stop? Why aren’t these people being held accountable?”

The silence of the US leadership is deafening. Even Florida’s Republican senators, Rick Scott and Ashley Moody, are silent about the murder of one of their constituents in Israel. Only Democratic Representative Kathy Castor, who represents Musallet’s district, issued a weak, meaningless statement on July 14, speaking of “sadness” but not even mentioning the Zionist settler terrorists as the perpetrators.

The White House and Congress are complicit, at least morally, through their inaction and disregard for the family’s requests. The State Department’s lukewarm response—a “condolence” and a referral to the Israeli authorities—reveals a bitter truth: American lives count for little or nothing when Zionists are the perpetrators.

This is not an isolated case. The United Nations has recorded over 2,000 settler attacks on Palestinians and their property in the past 18 months, i.e. since January 2024, including the armed robbery of fertile farmland. At least 350 people were injured and several killed. In the first week of July 2025 alone, there were 27 attacks resulting in casualties or material damage. Musallet’s family wanted to draw the attention of the US media to the escalating settler violence. Their appeal, sent shortly before the murder, pleaded for international attention. But the US government and Congress remain silent, because it is no news that they are deep in the pockets of the Zionists and that their interests are more important to them than the safety of their own citizens in the West Bank.

To illustrate the difference in the reactions of the US Congress and the White House, one need only imagine that Sayfollah Musallet had been killed in this particularly brutal manner in Iran or Turkey. The US Congress would explode with rage and calls for revenge and threaten sanctions in bipartisan resolutions if the perpetrators went unpunished. The media would report around the clock and also demand sanctions and accountability. “Experts” would denounce the “barbarism” of the political regime responsible, and Trump would probably mobilize his base with military threats.

The US pumps billions into Israel’s war machine, but when its citizens are slaughtered by settlers or soldiers, the response is indifference. This double standard is according to the doers at Zeteo “a betrayal of every American”. A government should protect its own citizens instead of sacrificing them on the altar of foreign interests.

However, the tragedy of the Musallet family exposes a deeper moral decay among the US elite, according to Zeteo. When Israeli settlers or soldiers kill Americans, there is shameful silence. Why? Because the US elite profits from hundreds of millions of dollars in pro-Israel lobby money, which means that Zionist interests take precedence over American lives. This is not “America First” – it is Israel first, paid for with US blood, according to a comment on the platform. In the last 21 months alone, seven Americans have been murdered by Zionists, and no US politician is working to bring the perpetrators to justice.

The hypocrisy goes beyond silence. The Trump administration pushed for cuts to USAID programs in 2025 because of “waste,” but ignores the $3.8 billion in annual military aid to Israel that fuels the very settler violence that killed Musallet. This selective outrage, condemning aid to Palestinians while funding Israel’s brutal occupation and oppression, reveals not only a calculated partisanship for Israel, but also US complicity in the human rights abuses and war crimes of the Netanyahu regime.
