Frankfurt am Main, Germany (Weltexpress). Experts and critics know that samarium is an element derived from the mineral samarskite, which was named by the German Heinrich Rose after the Russian Wassili Samarski-Bychowez. They also know that silvery-white samarium, with the element symbol Sm and atomic number 62, is rare, very rare.

Vasily Samarski-Bychowez discovered the mineral samarskite as a mining engineer. Others discovered deposits and properties. Samarium is basically only available for purchase in the PR China. It is used in medicine, but above all in the military-industrial complex. Capitalists in the USA in particular are buying samarium. It is now being offered in the PRC at 60 times the standard price. If that’s not a reason for war, what is?

The PRC government has already restricted direct exports of gallium, germanium and antimony to the USA. The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) reports, citing industry sources, that the restrictions imposed by the USA against the PRC during the Cold War are a hot topic on Wall Street and in Washington. From bullets to fighter jets, production is stalling due to a shortage of certain rare earth metals.

Samarium is used in the production of magnets and jet engines. The WSJ is also aware of this.

It goes without saying that the PRC government does not want to sell rare earth metals to an enemy that is waging not only cold wars but also hot ones, if these metals are used for weapons and ammunition against the PRC.
