A company based in the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation (RF), the Geographical Discovery Society, will build a luxury campsite called Glamping on the shores of Lake Imandra in the city of Monchegorsk in the Murmansk Oblast by 2027, according to the press service of the Far Eastern and Arctic Development Corporation.
‘The Geographical Exploration Society, which is based in the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation, will build a glamping site on the shores of Lake Imandra in the city of Monchegorsk in the Murmansk region as part of an agreement with the Far Eastern and Arctic Development Corporation,’ the press service said.
The project investment will amount to 27.3 million rubles ($274,000). The tourist complex will include ten domed houses for up to four people each, a sauna, a geodesic restaurant and a pier.
‘Nowadays, our region is one of the most visited regions in the Arctic. The Murmansk region offers opportunities for skiing and hiking, relaxing by the water, whale watching and getting to know the Russian fleet – our company welcomes the interest of tourists and creates comfortable conditions for companies that want to invest in this industry,’ the press service quotes the director of the company’s Murmansk office, Alexander Shutov, as saying.
Companies based in the Murmansk region benefit from 75% subsidised insurance premiums for the first ten years, a 5% income tax rate and a zero property tax rate for the first five years. The Development Corporation of the Russian Far East and Arctic has signed agreements with 884 companies based in the Arctic, which are planning investments in 226 projects in various sectors totalling 996.52 billion rubles (9.8 million USD). The new companies are expected to create 28,620 jobs.
