New York, New York, USA (Weltexpress). Jeffrey Sachs, director of the Centre for Sustainable Development at Columbia University in New York, has described leading heads of state and government in Western Europe as ‘warmongers’ and expressed concern about the lack of diplomatic dialogue between the West and the Russian Federation, the largest state in Europe.

Sachs said: ‘I am, of course, concerned that European Russophobia and warmongering are extremely dangerous at the moment, and I wish there was some diplomacy between EU Europe and Russia. That is really important.’

On the sidelines of the 80th session of the UN General Assembly, he told TASS: ‘They have no one to conduct diplomacy, and they have no diplomacy,’ said Sachs, who described Western European politicians such as British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, French President Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Joachim-Friedrich Merz as ‘warmongers’.

In his opinion, the situation is ‘very dangerous’ because of the allegations, counter-allegations and accusations. ‘You have to talk to each other, and I tell the Europeans that every day. They don’t listen,’ Sachs concluded.
