New York, USA (Weltexpress). The US should disentangle itself from the Ukraine conflict, said Alexander Gray, former National Security Council chief of staff under President Donald Trump. “The United States cannot indefinitely support Ukraine or be a party to this conflict. We have much bigger challenges, I would say, the Chinese Communist Party being number one, and so we need to extricate ourselves from this sooner rather than later,” he said on Fox News.

He backed the efforts of US President Donald Trump to end the conflict.

“The strategy that I think he’s pursuing is we have to find a way to bring these folks to the table, both the Russians and the Ukrainians. So ultimately, we can disentangle the United States from this,” Gray said.

Commenting on how much the US should be involved, he said, “I would argue that we have to make tough tradeoffs about where do we spend American resources.”

“I think ultimately, the United States can’t afford to continue to prop up the Ukrainian war effort indefinitely. It’s just it’s just not feasible,” the former official went on to say.Gray worked in Trump’s administration during the president’s first term from 2017-2021. He also served as Trump’s assistant. Afterward, Gray founded a consulting firm.
