London, GB (Weltexpress). Mike Walsh describes himself as a writer, musician, educationalist and sailor. His successful and diverse forty year career in public service saw him progress from teaching the piano to overseeing the approval of major government capital expenditure.

As a schools’ inspector he wrote the book “Building a Successful School” which was described by the Times Educational Supplement as a ‘real gem’ and was a recommended read for headteachers. His involvement in music continued a long time after teaching the subject stopped. He worked with singers and groups in performance, is a songwriter and was a church organist at his parish churches in Stockport and Hampton for many years.

He has two children in England, his daughter the proud mother of his wonderful grandchildren and his son a poet and musician in London.

Mike took early retirement to fulfil a number of lifelong ambitions. These included developing his interest in writing and art and spending more time sailing. His Yacht ‘Archangel’, on which he keeps his stage piano, is currently based in Italy and this year will be exploring the anchorages and harbours around the islands of the western Mediterranean.
