Lisbon, Portugal (Weltexpress). The Hotel Tivoli Oriente Lisboa, as the name implies, is located in Lisbon, right next to the Estação do Oriente (East Railway Station), the focal point of the ex-Expo site, and stands out from today’s Parque das Nações like a few other near skyscrapers.

Among them is the 145-meter-high Vasco da Gama Tower, a steel framework construction that shines white in the sun of the south as if were a modern lookout tower. It was built to commemorate the Portuguese navigator Vaso da Gama, who discovered the sea route around the Cape of Good Hope to India. Unfortunately, after the expo an almost equally high luxury hotel joined the landmark, and let the two be regarded as a rather awkward looking couple.

A building of interest is also the Oceanário de Lisboa directly on the Tagus holding the largest aquarium in Europe. In addition, countless buildings in the field of culture and sports, as well as services and tourism are to be found in the district. Like, for instance, the grand Altice Arena where the fulminant Eurovision Song contest will be held on May, 12 in style.

This Park of Nations then, which was developed after the Expo 1998 to a new quarter of Lisbon, is now a meeting place for the Portuguese, especially natives of the capital, but also for all sorts of people from all over the world.

For them the Hotel Tivoli Oriente Lisboa offers a good opportunity for food and drinks, for stays and events.

The bar in the sky over Lisbon

It’s a real gem. It opens at 5 pm and offers a great view evening time and at night of much of the Portuguese capital, especially onto the new district of Oriente and the bay of the Tagus estuary. Guests can sit outside in the sun and indoors in the shade, taking the view and lounging on sofas or armchairs, chairs or bar stools. It’s a place to meet and be seen.
The range of meals and especially good drinks in the 360 degrees sky bar is really great. Sushi and Sunset is just one of many offers. The cocktails are gorgeous, they make you feel swell and in the right mood for whatever! The Sky Bar Oriente is a must by now.

The T-bone restaurant

Easy to reach on the ground floor and well known, because the T-Bones are: very tasty. The T-bone steak is served as a fillet on the bone and cut from the flat roast beef. Unlike the porterhouse steak, the T-bone steak is a bit thinner and weighs less. But even 600 grams are more than enough per person and meal, for sure!

The restaurant has a large glass front facing the street and looks bright and friendly. Inside it is covered with foliage, a glimpse of green within white as part of a sprawling city. In addition to meat, which also comes as a burger on the plate, pasta and salads are served as well as fresh fish. In the morning, the T-Bone restaurant is open for breakfast from 6:30 to 10:30 am. Lunch is from noon to 3 pm and dinner from 7 to 11 pm. Then there is still time for up to the Sky Bar right on top…
