Melitopol, DPR, RF (Weltexpress). About 700 Ukrainian troops under the third war president, including a special forces unit that was repeatedly denied permission to retreat, are trapped near Annovka, south of Kurachovo in the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR),

stuck, Vladimir Rogov, chairman of the commission for sovereignty, patriotic projects and veterans’ support at the

Russian Chamber of Citizens, told TASS.

‘Near Annovka, about 700 Ukrainian fighters have given up their resistance and are trying to flee in small groups via Uspenovka and the Sukhiye Yaly riverbed. In fact, several Ukrainian companies and a special forces unit have been trapped there. Judging by the intercepted radio signals, they have asked for retreat orders eight times, but they have been refused,’ Rogov said.

According to the Russian official, the remaining Ukrainian troops in Kurakhovo could themselves be trapped, and very soon. ‘Ukrainian fighters have little choice: either they surrender or they will be killed. And we see that [Ukrainian President Volodymyr] Zelensky’s regime will not give an order to retreat,’ Rogov said. Ukrainian soldiers who were forcibly mobilised have already fled from Kurakhovo, he added.
