Berlin, Germany (Weltexpress). Massively documented serious war crimes are not preventing the German government from striking another deal with the perpetrators from among its ‘values partners.’ During his recent visit ‘to friends,’ Interior Minister Dobrindt announced a new cyber and security pact with Israel.
Whether brutal oppression, illegal wars of aggression or mass murder of civilians: the worst crimes are, at best, a PR problem for the German government, provided they are committed by its ‘values partners’. Blackmail, plunder, murder for profit and imperial power: anyone who opposes this is considered an enemy. But those who participate also profit. No wonder: the German government is cutting back on the poor and instead shovelling taxpayers’ money into the pockets of arms companies and alleged perpetrators of genocide.
On Monday, the Federal Ministry of the Interior announced a ‘cyber and security pact’ with Israel. An accompanying video clip shows Minister Alexander Dobrindt (CSU) ‘visiting friends,’ where he sealed the pact with a cheerful handshake with, among others, the wanted war criminal, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Meanwhile, on his orders, the Israeli army (IDF) is committing well-documented, abhorrent war crimes on a continuous basis just a few kilometres away in the Gaza Strip and increasingly in the West Bank – from the targeted mass murder of civilians with bombs and bullets to planned starvation.
‘Cyber Dome’ for Germany
With the planned deal, the German government wants to expand its military and intelligence cooperation with Israel. Dobrindt, whose political career is largely based on relentless agitation against Hartz IV recipients, now known as ‘citizen’s income’ recipients, and other minorities such as asylum seekers, boasted about a new ‘Cyber Dome’ for Germany, in obvious reference to Israel’s ‘Iron Dome’ missile defence system. The fact that the latter failed miserably in Iran’s counterattacks is a minor detail.
Germany therefore wants to use Israel’s cyber warfare capabilities for its own purposes. Two recent examples come to mind: in an operation against Hezbollah last year, the Israeli foreign intelligence service Mossad detonated thousands of pagers, mainly in Lebanon, killing and maiming numerous civilians. In the Gaza Strip (and presumably elsewhere), the IDF uses killer AI to select tens of thousands of targets, with up to 300 or more civilian deaths per bombing.
Such artificial intelligence, which ‘frees’ itself from getting its hands dirty in mass murder (according to German Chancellor Friedrich Merz (CDU), this is ‘dirty work’), is probably the dream of every fanatical warmonger and war criminal. According to Dobrindt, Germany needs ‘a powerful digital shield against espionage, sabotage and to protect critical infrastructure.’
Pact with alleged genocidal murderers
Speaking of espionage and sabotage, who remembers the wiretapping of former Chancellor Angela Merkel’s mobile phone? As we all know, it was neither the Russians nor the Chinese nor even the Iranians, but the largest US foreign intelligence service, the NSA. And US intelligence agencies were certainly involved in the terrorist attack on the Nord Stream pipelines, which multiplied energy prices for ordinary German citizens.
But this is not about sabotage and spying by so-called ‘friends’. Angela Merkel herself is said to have seen the wiretapping affair primarily as a PR problem. And the Nord Stream ‘investigations’, which have been running into the ground for almost three years, will probably still have produced no results in ten years’ time.
The German ‘deal makers’ with the alleged genocidal leaders have only their familiar ‘enemies’ in their sights: all states that do not want to allow the collective West to plunder their raw materials and flood their markets with junk goods: Russia, China and Iran, for example.
AI for killing and spying
With the expansion of military cooperation with the State of Israel, which malicious tongues refer to as the ‘aircraft carrier of the USA in the Middle East,’ Germany is continuing the close arms cooperation between the two countries over the past decades. Since the 1990s at the latest, this cooperation has pursued the goal of using the IDF’s experience for the desired transformation of the Bundeswehr from a defensive army into a globally operating force within the framework of various NATO wars, which it has long since become.
For example, before the completion of the Schnöggersburg urban warfare training facility, Bundeswehr soldiers trained for combat operations in urban areas directly in Israel at the Altmark military training area in Saxony-Anhalt. The arms industries of both countries are also cobbling together contracts, whether for drone leasing for the German mission in Afghanistan or the procurement of Israeli Arrow 3 defence missiles.
Now it’s time for cyber warfare: In Israel, Unit 8200, among others, is involved in this, an IDF unit subordinate to the Aman military intelligence service that specialises in electronic reconnaissance, i.e. surveillance, espionage and military cyber operations. A considerable industry has established itself in Israel in its service. Unit 8200 is also responsible for the use of the killer AI (artificial intelligence) ‘Lavender’ under such perfidious operation names as ‘Where is Daddy’ in Gaza.
Battlefield Gaza
Dobrindt’s Ministry of the Interior published the plans for the Israeli-made ‘Cyber Dome’ shortly after a report in the Israeli newspaper Haaretz. The report once again revealed serious war crimes committed by the IDF, which are part of a long series of brutal acts of barbarism.
These include the daily massacres of starving civilians in the vicinity of the new ‘distribution centres’ operated since the end of May by the dubious US company GHF. The latter resemble US-Israeli military bases, with the apparent aim of herding the inhabitants of Gaza into a confined space.
Haaretz cites statements by IDF soldiers and officers. One was quoted as saying, ‘This is a battlefield.’ According to the report, the IDF leadership itself ordered its soldiers to shoot at defenceless civilians before and after the distribution of completely inadequate ‘aid supplies,’ killing hundreds of starving people so far. Prior to this, the Israeli government had starved the inhabitants of Gaza with a three-month total blockade. Nearly 70 infants and young children are said to have already starved to death – which is likely only the tip of the iceberg of barbarism.
The United Nations (UN) and various aid organisations, all of which Israel had previously eliminated in the Gaza Strip and smeared with dirty campaigns, accuse the US company GHF of misusing hunger as a weapon of war on behalf of Israel and the US – a serious war crime. Shortly before taking office, the first GHF boss, Jake Wood, threw in the towel, saying the company did not even come close to meeting humanitarian standards.
Mass murder under a hunger blockade
According to doctors, authorities and aid organisations in the bombed-out Gaza Strip, Israel has killed almost 60,000 people since 7 October 2023, about two-thirds of them women and children. The figures provided by the Gaza authorities have always been reliable in the past.
However, due to the total destruction of infrastructure, including hospitals, experts believe the actual death toll is much higher.
An independent survey published in the scientific journal Nature puts the number of direct deaths at ‘more than 80,000.’ Lancet published an estimate a year ago that included indirect victims, putting the death toll at up to 186,000 – eight per cent of Gaza’s total population.
Over time, horrific war crimes have come to light, some of which were proudly posted on social media by IDF soldiers themselves, including: the deliberate destruction of universities, schools, mosques, homes and water tanks; drone strikes on clearly unarmed civilians; the deliberate killing of hundreds of aid workers, paramedics and journalists; the humiliation and shooting of prisoners, the hunger blockade that has been in place for almost 21 months, sometimes more strictly enforced, sometimes less, targeted attacks on displaced persons in tents, and so on.
All these crimes did not and are not happening in the dark. Much of it has been announced as a plan by Israeli leaders themselves. This includes genocidal extermination fantasies and even calls for a ‘Holocaust using Nazi methods’ against Palestinians.
Digitalised hunt for ‘enemies of the state’
The disturbing evidence of countless war crimes, which would go beyond the scope of this article to list, is so extensive that no one can claim to be unaware of all the atrocities committed by Israel not only in the Gaza Strip, but also in the West Bank, Lebanon, Syria and, most recently, Iran. Consequently, the International Court of Justice (ICJ) has been investigating Israel on suspicion of genocide since January 2024.
Yet the German government continues to remain silent on all this; apart from a few assurances that it is ‘concerned’, nothing comes from this quarter. The new addition to the already extensive economic and military cooperation aims to provide financial, economic and ideological support for Israel’s fanatical, mass-murderous warmongering in the Middle East.
But even more than that, this military alliance is also about stepping up repression against the German population and, in the long term, perhaps even about larger wars of aggression by the united West. Critics of the government, for example from the peace movement and the Palestine solidarity movement, are already feeling the repression excessively, as are, for example, recipients of citizen’s income. The build-up of the secret services in Germany will be directed first and foremost against them, the new ‘enemies of the state within’.
