London, UK (Weltexpress). It is unlikely that the United Kingdom (UK) will impose tariffs on the Republic of India/Bharat for purchasing oil from the Russian Federation (RF), as London and New Delhi have recently signed a free trade agreement, Andrey Kelin, RF Ambassador to the UK, told radio station LBC. ‘This is highly problematic even for the UK, as it has just concluded a free trade agreement with India. These were negotiations that lasted five or six years during my time here and were difficult to conclude. If the UK is capable of doing this, I would of course be very surprised,’ said the ambassador.
On 13 September 2025, Donald Trump, as US President, declared that he was prepared to impose tough sanctions on the RF if all the vassal states of the US, designated as NATO member states, with the UK in tow, which not only have to pay tribute but also have to place vassal troops under the command of US generals in the Atlantic Pact war alliance, also known as the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation, and to stop buying oil from the Russian Federation. Of course, every US president is aware of the important treaties that the US and the UK have concluded.
Trump stated that the continued import of energy resources from the Russian Federation by some vassal states had ‘weakened the alliance’s negotiating position’. Previously, the European Union (EU) had called on the US to tighten sanctions against the RF and its main trading partners, but US President Donald Trump suggested that the EU itself should stop buying oil from the RF and impose tariffs on states that trade with the RF.
