Polish President Karol Nawrocki has convened emergency consultations with representatives of parliamentary parties over the conflict surrounding the Constitutional Court.
“Due to a threat to the internal security of the Republic of Poland, I am convening emergency consultations today with representatives of parliamentary groups to stabilize the political situation and restore constitutional order,” Pawel Szefernaker, head of the president’s office, read out Nawrocki’s statement. The broadcast was carried by Telewizja Republika, a Polish television channel. Szefernaker did not specify when the consultations would take place.
Later, speaking on TVN24, Polish Justice Minister Waldemar Zurek said that President Karol Nawrocki had left the Constitutional Court building.
