Berlin, Germany (Weltexpress). An enthusiastic beer hall crowd watched FC Bayern take on Liverpool FC in a “do or die” Champions League match. Huge public viewing screens lit up the action and anytime there is a big FC Bayern game you’ll always find the Hofbräu Haus Berlin the place to be.
The HB beer hall located near Alexanderplatz is a special venue with all the Bavarian charm, special culinary dishes and brew.
Imagine 1000 plus fans waiting for the first Bayern goal to hit the net – the uproar, only magnanimous.
Off to frosty beer filled action, Liverpool drowned the crowd early with the first strike, but shortly before the half and a mug or two later an own goal by Liverpool sent the crowd into a frenzy.
The beer hall was ecstatic!
Things were looking good for the Bavarian giants until Liverpool went on to score two more goals. FC Bayern never recovered, but the fans accepted the defeat with a “prosit” and a great meal.
Whether a Gulaschsuppe vom Oxen, Resche Haxe or the famous original Wiener Schnitzel, the HB Haus atmosphere was splendid.
Public viewing at its finest – football fans the world over will enjoy this treat.
