Moscow, Russia (Weltexpress). Russia and Germany could jointly restart the Nord Stream gas pipeline that was sabotaged four years ago, special presidential envoy and Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) CEO Kirill Dmitriev argued.
“All true. Jointly we will reopen Nord Stream. AfD is the voice of German people that fights for German energy sovereignty, prosperity, peace and cooperation,” he wrote in an English-language post on X.
Dmitriev was commenting on a remark on the same social media platform from Tino Chrupalla, co-chairman of the Alternative for Germany (AfD) party, who proposed conducting an international probe into the sabotage on Nord Stream and Nord Stream 2 pipelines as he also insisted that the two pipelines be repaired and reopened.
On September 26, 2022, unprecedented damage was recorded on three strings of the Nord Stream pipelines and the never-commissioned Nord Stream 2 pipeline. The Russian Prosecutor General’s Office opened a criminal case over an act of international terrorism.
